 Open Board Positions for 2021-2022 Season

We have the following board positions open for the 2021-2022 AGTBA season. Board membership requires attending monthly board meetings, tryouts and our home tournament in addition to the duties described below. Anyone interested in a position should complete the online google form Open Board Positions.

If you have questions about a position please contact Becky Doerr at President@AGTBA.org. All board positions are voted on at our April annual meeting.

President - 2 Year term

  • Oversee all directors and AGTBA activities including player/coach development, tryouts, registration, uniforms, pictures, finances, tournaments, gym/facilities and fundraising activities.

  • Build relationships with High School, MYAS, and other traveling basketball communities.

Tryout and Events Director - 2 Year Term

  • Responsible for all tryout activities - process and evaluation criteria, drills, tabulation of scores, weighting, grades, number of teams, sizes of teams, agenda for each day and organizing volunteers.

  • Work with the High School Booster Club to coordinate Youth Nights for teams.

  • Assist in organizing the 8th grade party.

Tournament Director - 2 Year Term

  • Plan everything associated with the tournament, venues, brackets, organize volunteer sign ups, concessions.

  • Work with coaches and Treasurer to register for tournaments.

  • Keep coaches informed on tournament brackets, rules, and extra tournament opportunities.

Website and Communications Director - 2 Year Term

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the website, Facebook page and email communications.

  • Create and send weekly email newsletters and updates to the association several times a month as needed.

  • Manage online registration process for tournaments and tryouts.

  • Create team pages after tryouts and provide Tech Support.

Facilities and Equipment Director - 2 Year Term

  • Inventory all equipment for season and order all equipment

  • Coordinate gym time for practice and tournament use.

  • Create and distribute practice schedules.

Treasurer - 1 Year Term

  • Responsible for all AGTBA financial activity.

  • Responsible for payment of approved expenditures.

  • Accountable for all checks received for program registration, volunteer fees and uniforms.

  • Provide yearly budget.

Our association is a member of the MYBA, who sets these rules and guidelines for us. We are required to report all positive and exposures into them on a biweekly basis. Please use the Covid reporting form on our website to report your player/coaches exposure or positive case. By being a member of the MYBA, there are consequences to our association if we do not follow these rules. Please continue to set good examples and practices so that we do not get shut down again. If anyone has any questions or concerns about the Covid policies, please email president@agtba.org.
