COVID and Planning Updates

August 7th, 2020:  Our RISK-FREE registration has opened.

August 3rd, 2020:  We have secured gym space at the Andover Community Center's NEW back gym!  These courts will allow for most of our game-play to occur in a fun environment without the restrictions of the school districts facility policies.  The new courts also have adjustable basketball rim heights to lower to accommodate for our youngest players.

July 11, 2020:  We are in the process of ordering a registration form from SportsEngine.  This registration will only require a small deposit ($5).  If for some reason the season is unable to be held, the registration amount will be considered a donation.  If a season is able to be held, the balance of the registration will be charged.

July 1, 2020:  As an association, one of our largest determining factors in deciding if we can host a season or not is facility availability.  Many, if not all, practices and games are hosted within our local elementary schools.  Different from previous years, the school district is not allowing the facilities to be reserved yet.  Typically this would have happened in July.   Understandably, the school district has chosen to wait until after the Governor's announcement at the end of July regarding the opening of schools before it decides if it will allow local organizations to rent out the buildings.  Because most of the rims do not lower to height suitable for younger players, the Andover Community Center's gyms are not an option for a season.

June 22, 2020:  The MDH has released guidance on the opening of many youth sports.  Click here to see more info.

Andover Girls In-House Basketball

The Andover Athletic Association provides a competitive opportunity for girls grades K thru 8 to play local in-house basketball!   All practices and games are played in the Andover area against other girls.  Teams are formed to honor friend requests, practice-night requests, and to keep the teams competitively balanced!   Coaches are volunteers.  Practices are fun and center on skill development.  Games are competitive.

Practices:  Practices are held once a week (Monday-Thursday).  During registration you will be able to select a night that does not work for your family.

Games:  Games are played on Saturday mornings and occasionally on Friday nights.
